The Vigier Park is neither one of the largest nor one of the oldest parks in Nice. Located close to the seashore on the east side of Port de Nice and stretching on a surface of 1 hectare, Parc Vigier was set up in 1971 on the former property of a local viscount, Achille Georges Vigier.

The greenery consists mainly of Mediterranean species, palm trees and sundry exotic specimens. An interesting historical reference is the nowadays park is the place where the first specimen of Phoenix canariensis ever brought in France was planted and acclimatized.
