The Basilica of Notre Dame de Nice stands out as one of the newest and most impressive architectural landmarks of Nice. It was built no sooner than 1868 by the design of Lenormand, though the Gothic style it embodies might lead visitors to believe it dates back much earlier than the 19th century.

It is located in the very center of Nice, and it overlooks the area by its two 65 meters high towers which frame an impressively large rose window on top of the entrance. The basilica is, at the same time, the largest places of worship in Nice. The excellent acoustics of the church enable plenty of musical events (choir music, orchestras, organ music) to be organized here all the year round. The so-called Heures Musicales de Notre Dame is also hosted by the Basilica of Notre Dame de Nice.
